Catoctin Creek Members-Only Release: Worth Joining the Club?

Catoctin Creek Bottle Club: Members-Only Rye Release | Whiskey Social
5:58

Catoctin Creek’s Bottle Club release is a cask strength rye whiskey finished in barrels that once held their 10-year-old Norton Brandy bottled-in-bond release.

What is Catoctin Creek’s Norton Brandy-Finished Rye?

This single barrel rye was aged in a barrel that previously held Catoctin Creek’s celebrated 10-Year Norton Brandy (BIB), first released in 2022. That brandy, made from Virginia’s native Norton grape, left behind deep layers of fruit and spice that now influence the rye whiskey.

What does it taste like?

  • Aroma: Elegant and bold with notes of red apple, caramel, and a hint of sherry

  • Palate: Velvety at first, evolving into rich waves of port, clove, cinnamon, and allspice

  • Finish: Lingering sweetness with subtle cloves and a soft hint of clover

This is a cask strength pour: unfiltered, undiluted, and packed with flavor.
